Upon arrival at the race site, please locate the registration marquee. Here, you will find signs for each wave and course. Please find your correct ‘lane’ and wait to be registered by our registration marshals.
** IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU REGISTER AT LEAST ONE HOUR BEFORE YOUR RUN IS DUE TO START **
WHAT IS THE COURSE LIKE?
The GBH Run is tough and challenging for all fitness levels. All competitors have a choice of completing the 10k or finishing at 5k point.
HOW FIT DO I NEED TO BE?
This depends on how quickly you want to complete the course. If you are unsure of your fitness we recommend the 5km route, and you can run or walk the distance. We would recommend that you have run 2 miles before at some point. The 10km course is a lot tougher than the 5km and you must be fit to run this course!
WHAT IF I CAN’T GET OVER THE OBSTACLES?
Most of our obstacles are manned with marshals. If you don’t want to or are unable to complete an obstacle then you can pass it, no pressure.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME ON THE DAY?
You will need to bring your confirmation email (electronic copy on your phone or paper hard copy), suitable clothing & footwear to run the course in.
IS THERE PARKING OR TRANSPORT?
Yes parking is available on site and a short walking distance from event. Parking will be advertised on the day. There is also a bus service (321 or 724) and bus stop at The Three Hammers Pub on Watford Road, which is a few minutes walk to the venue.
The race will be organized into waves of 50 and these will be published on the website nearer race day. You need to select a wave when signing up. Once a wave is full no more entries can be moved into this wave. Please sign up with friends to ensure you are in the same wave. We use a wave system so there is no queuing and for the safety of our racers.
CAN I ENTER THE WAR ON THE DAY?
Yes you can. The price on the day is £40 for 10km & 5km GBH run, you will be placed into a wave and given a start time.
DO I HAVE TO SIGN A WAIVER TO PARTICIPATE?
Yes – you will be required to sign a waiver prior to all our events in which you acknowledge that you will be taking part in a potentially dangerous event with a risk of personal injury.
Medical support teams will be on site and instructors/marshals will be situated all around the course. Should you become injured or ill, we will get you to the first aid station as quickly as possible. You must notify us before you take part in the run if there is a pre-existing injury or condition that we should be aware of.
We encourage spectators to join us for the fun. There will be designated viewing areas. Spectators may view the race in designated areas for free but they are at their own risk.
Refreshments are available.
WHAT DO I GET WHEN I FINISH THE WAR?
You will be awarded a GBH Medal and a GBH completion certificate.
